Jack Pringle led the Pringle Brandon team for Barclays. He worked with the developers’ team including HOK, the base build architects, to select a building type (3 options were initially presented) and then to modify the base building in order to optimise the floor plates including core and atrium locations to meet our clients’ requirements. The strategic brief and fit out for the working floors and special areas of the new 31-floor flagship building were then developed.

The scope of the briefing project included definition of business aims and efficiency targets, user surveys and workshops, development of FM and IT operational strategies, analysis of workplace options and development of concept and scheme designs including finishes for all special areas.

The Government used this project as one of the two exemplar case studies of “soft landings”.

The accommodation comprised:
• Five occupied, landscaped atria with coffee bars
• Staff restaurant
• Client meeting rooms and fine dining area Training suite and 200-seat auditorium Specially commissioned artwork 40,000ft2 data centre (tier 4)
